Quad Boss Rear Wrap Trunk with the Envision ATV Quick Release System review by Patrick Saunders. All product for this field test & review were provided by Quad Boss & Envision Group.

I was approached to do a review of Quad Boss's Rear Wrap Trunk along with the Envision Group ATV Quick Release System. I am a fan of soft luggage, but I had to see how this would work on one of our test platforms. This atv quick release from Envision group really compliments the rugged Quad Boss rear trunk.
If you look at the pictures below, this combo works just fine for what I do around the farm, and out in the woods.
Bare in mind that if you do not want to have your trunk on all the time, you just un-screw the wing nuts from the inside of your trunk. 2 minutes and your trunk is off your atv and you are ready to attach something else on to your rack. As long as you keep your trunk locked, nobody else will be able to remove it (like my soft luggage can be removed by un buckling the straps).

Installation using the Envision Groups ATV Easy Release System:

  • I found that the easiest way for me install the ATV Easy release System on my rear truck was to remove the rear rack from the atv.
  • I then flipped the box upside down and positioned my wrack where I wanted the box to be positioned on the rack.
  • Set your release system clamps where it will be easy to get at from below, to position the arms before you snug them down.

  • Once you have your clamps positioned where you can turn them easily when the box is on the rear rack, it's time to drill the holes.
  • Remember, measure twice drill once. I drilled the hole for the bolt just big enough so I had to Twist it into the who snuggly. I figured this would keep some moisture out.

  • Nice view of the quick release clamps in position.
  • We are ready to re-install my rack on the atv, and install the rear truck.

  • View of the inside of the truck with the wing nuts read to be threaded into those snug holes.
  • Lets get this box on the atv and see what she looks like.

  • Make sure when you first install the hold down clamps, you leave enough room so they can be turned freely.
  • If they don't swivel enough to get them clear of your rack, you have goofed on your install.

  • I made sure these would fit perfect so we could hold the clamp with one hand and tighten the wing nut from inside with the other.
  • You need to hold on to the clamp so it keeps aligned up on the rack correctly while you snug down each wing nut.

  • The wing nuts snug down pretty close to the bottom of the box and should be too much of a snag hazard.

  • Here is bottom side view of the Envision Group ATV Easy Release System.
  • This box is secure and going no where, unless you remove it from the inside of the box.
  • Lock your box and thieves will have a hard time making off with this box.

  • Note:
  • You can call Envision Group direct at (877) 209-8691 to find out more about the ATV Easy Release System.
  • Most likely by the time this review is done this easy release system will be a part number with Quad Boss by then.

This is how my Quad Boss Trunk is used!

My First Impressions:

Pros:

ATV Easy Release System makes installation and removal of the truck a breeze.
The trunk is secure with the release system.
I like that fact you can carry your gear and lock it up with out issues's.

Cons:

This trunks like most boxes are not water tight. My suggestion is; If you have to have dry luggage, invest in a dry bag to stick your dry goods in.

Bottom Line

I like the trunk and it ability to carry a load. It's durable and should handle lots of punishment. If you have to have a hard shell trunk, then I would seriously check out the Quad Boss line up of boxes.
