My Impressions:

Pros:

This machine has almost everything that all the big boys’ utv’s have!

Instruments: Multi-function digital meter with bar-style tachometer (2 display options), digital speedometer, bar-style fuel gauge, gear indicator (L, H, N, R), Power Mode, driving mode (2WD/4WD/4WD+Diff Lock) indicator, Economical Riding Indicator, clock, odometer, dual trip meters, hour meter, water temperature, digital battery gauge, bar-style CTV temperature, seatbelt warning lamp, oil warning lamp, engine check lamp, water temperature warning lamp, neutral indicator lamp, reverse indicator lamp, parking indicator lamp, EPS warning lamp, and CVT belt warning lamp.

Color Choices: Lime Green/Metallic Onyx Black, Metallic Moondust White/ Metallic Onyx Black

Warranty: 6 months. Optional Kawasaki Protection Plus™ 12, 24, or 36 months

MSRP: $20,499 U.S.

Cons:

Turning Radius: 19.4 ft is like trying to turn a school bus around on a single lane road.

It has a powerful 999cc engine that is held back by an industry low speed limiter.

Bottomline:

I used this utv for almost every type of riding and it performed flawlessly throughout every ride. We rode sand, high desert, mountainous terrain, high elevation, and some water crossings thrown in for good measure.

The KRX 1000 has plenty of power to get the job done, but it’s industry safety measures hamper it when it wants to stretch its legs. I had this machine for a good time frame, and I was able to load it up with aftermarket goodies, which it wore very well. I also did some clutching work and reflashed the ecu while in my custody. This woke this machine up nicely.

Being a wide body made it more suitable for desert, dune, and wider trails, but I would own one in a heartbeat. The quality of the craftsmanship on my machine was totally top shelf as expected for any Kawasaki build.

Despite what I pointed out as a few character flaws, it by far would not be a deal breaker. So get in line, the Kawasaki KRX 1000 is going through a metamorphisms and I ca’t wait to see what happens next to the next generation machines!
